Aadhaar - Aadhar Card – Aadhar

Aadhaar - Aadhar or UID is a new identity card issued by UIDAI. Applying for Aadhaar is voluntary at this stage. This 12 digit unique identification number is available to every individual irrespective of any age including children/baby/ newborn to provide them unique and different identity.  Unique Identification Authority of India has the sole responsibility and rights to provide Aadhar to individuals.

Aadhar number can be obtained by applying online through official website of UID or through the Aadhar card enrollment centers located in almost all major and minor cities. People of Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad , Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Lucknow, Chandigarh and many other cites may visit the aadhar center to get aadhar card application form and fill necessary details to apply. Aadhar Card application require other identity proof, address proof to apply. Here we provided all details about Aadhar in easy steps.


How to apply for Aadhar Card – Individuals should visit enrollment center to make Aadhaar Application. However, appointment of aadhaar enrollment  is also available online in cities of Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Chandigarh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab and Rajasthan State.
Other remaining states have no facility of getting online appointment. 

Appointment for Aadhaar Enrolment online  - Steps to follow

2- Fill details in online form
  • Name – Select appropriate initial and provide correct name
  • Email -  Provide valid and active email id
  • Mobile Number- fill mobile number (Do not add ‘0’ (Zero ) before mobile number)
  • Select number of person (By default it is 1)
3- Select Enrollment center 
  • State/UT
  • Select District/city
  • Select Locality / Area
  • Select Enrolment center
4- Select Date and time for Appointment
  • Select a date other than Sunday. Center will be closed on holidays and Sundays
  • Select time slot between 9:00AM morning to 6:00PM evening
5- Click on link “Fix Appointment” to complete Aadhaar Card online Appointment.
6- Individual who complete registration will get Appointment Slip for Enrollment on next screen. This Slip of Aadhar Appointment have system generated token number and details of 
  • Center Location – Address of AAdhar enrollment center
  • Date and Time of Enrollment number
  • Number of persons
  • Contact person at aadhar enrollment center
  • Registrar name – NSDL and Enrollment Agency Name – XYZ limited
7- Take printout of Aadhar Appointment slip
8- An individual may also call on toll free number 1800-180-1947 in case of he/she lost their slip or token number.
9 - Individual can cannel/reschedule appointment of aadhar enrollment number through same link.
NoteIt is advised that individuals who have received token number should take printout of Aadhar application form available on website link http://appointments.uidai.gov.in/enrolmentform.pdf in pdf form .


Aadhaar enrollment Process-
Individual who get online appointment or who visit to enrollment center need to provide detailed application form and other documents (Identity proof, address proof, date of birth certificate). At Aadhaar Enrollment center following steps are followed for issue of Aadhaar number.
1- Duly filled application and documents are verified at enrollment center.
2- Copies of identity proof, address proof, date of birth certificate are submitted along with form 
3- Biometric test of Finger tips – At enrollment center, individuals will be gone through finger tips biometric test. All 10 fingers of both hands will be scanned in biometric test to keep details and uniqueness of an individual in data base of UID. 
4- Biometric Scanning of Iris – Screening eyes (Iris) will be made during Aadhaar enrollment process. This biometric iris test will ensure uniqueness of individual. What is iris test, how it is performed , why the iris test is necessary for Aadhaar number. 
5- Photograph – A photo of individual will be taken before allotting enrollment number.


These test will record all data of a person that can be matched without any loophole in identification. As per researches till date, no two person have same finger prints and iris (retina). 

Aadhar Application Form –
Individual willing to apply for Aadhaar should fill aadhar application from. Aadhar application form is available free of cost. Even photocopies of documents, help by enrollment center in filling application form, aadhar enrollment process is absolutely free. Candidates need not to pay any amount towards whole aadhar enrollment.
 
Note- Individual should enroll for aadhaar only once. Aadhaar number will be issued only once in whole life of an individual. It is advised that applicants should not enroll more than once to get Aadhaar number.

Parts of Aadhar Application form –
Aadhar application form is divided in 4 parts namely Part A, Part B, Part C and Part D. More details are given below 
1- Part A – This part of aadhaar application require Primary details of individual seeking Aadhar 
2- Part B – This part is called verification part of Aadhar application. Here individual need to provide.

  • Proof of Address Document
  • Proof of Identity Document
  • Introducer name
  • Head of family /Introducer EID number / Aadhaar No.

3- Part C – Additional information requires to be filled by applicant in part c of Aadhaar form. It requires mobile number and email address details
4- Part D – This part is about Financial information of individual. Individual need to provide any existing bank detail or promise to open UID enabled bank account.
After tests and submitting application form, enrollment center will allot 14 digits EID number( Enrollment Identity number). Point to remember while filling aadhaar form – 
1- If already applied for aadhaar, do not fill application
2- Aadhaar number will be issued only once in life
3- Individuals should specify and provide express consent over opening of bank account, linking of existing bank account, mobile number linking with Aadhaar or data sharing
4- Keep acknowledgement slip safely for future use. This aadhar acknowledgement slip contains enrollment ID and other details of enrollment. 


Issue of Aadhar number  -
Person who will successfully enrolled for Aadhaar, they will receive Aadhaar letter by post to their residential address. It may take upto 90 days to reach aadhaar letter at individual’s place.

E-Aadhar Letter – Apart from receiving aadhaar letter through post person willing to download aadhaar number online can do so online. E-addhar letter can be downloaded once issued by providing 14 digits EID number. Download your e-aadhaar letter here http://eaadhaar.uidai.gov.in

Identity Proof – List of documents verifying Proof of Identity
There are 17 documents available to provide as proof of identity, 32 documents for address proof and 4 documents for verifying date of birth for Aadhaar. Some most widely and commonly used documents are
1- Passport
2- PAN card (Issued by income tax department)
3- Ration Card
4- Voter Id (Issued by election commission o India)
5- Driving license
6- Arms License
7- Telephone bill
8- Electricity bill
9 - SSLC certificate (for DOB)
How to update Aadhaar Data –
Aadhar data regarding Name, Address, Gender, Date of Birth and Mobile Number can be updated online.  Change in details of other documents, individual should send details through post at respective enrollment center.
 
Check Aadhaar Status online –
1- Visit link https://portal.uidai.gov.in/ResidentPortal/statusLink 
2- Provide 14 digits EID number and 14 digits date and time of enrollment (total 28 digits) (example – EID + 01072013034035 – This 14 digits contain first 8 digits date (2 digits 01), Month (2 digits 07 (July), Year (4 digits 2013). Rest 6 digits are 03 (3PM), 40(40 minutes) and 35 (Seconds).
How to check aadhar status on mobile-
Individual can send SMS through the registered mobile by typing  UID STATUS <14 digits enrollment number> to 51969.
