National Aptitude Test for Architecture – www.nata.in



What is NATA?

National Aptitude Test In Architecture is a nationwide test that is conducted in order to measure an applicant’s aptitude for a specified field of study namely Architecture. NATA is conducted by council of Architecture. It is essential that a student clears NATA in order to secure admission  into Bachelor of Architecture course.

Important Dates

Start date of NATA: 20th March 2013
Last date for NATA: 31st August 2013
Start Date for  disbursal of application forms: 15th March 2013   

**** It is advisable that students appear for their National aptitude test for architecture at least six working days prior to last date of examination. Students can appear for NATA only on working days.

Eligibility Criteria

Students who have secured aggregate score of 50% and above in their higher secondary certificate examination along with mathematics as one of the subjects can appear for NATA.

How To Apply for NATA?

Eligible students can walk into the branches of ICICI bank to purchase the application form. List of branches where application forms is available is on the official website.  They will need to make a payment of Rs 1000 to purchase the application form. This amount also includes the examination fees. Candidates will need to select their test centre by visiting www.nata.in. They will need to walk in to the test centre to submit the application and to choose the examination date. They would need to register themselves and collect the receipt. They should report to the examination centre on the prescribed date for completing their test.

Examination Pattern

Examination consists of two different papers. First paper is a paper based test for drawing and the second test is an online test to assess the aesthetic sensitivity of the candidate. Candidates need to answer three questions in drawing test in Two hours.  Aesthetic sensitivity test will have 40 multiple choice questions that assess perception, imagination, creativity, observation and communication of the candidate in conjunction  with architectural awareness.

Syllabus of NATA

Drawing Test syllabus includes ability to combine elements to form a building, ability to perceive light effects in drawing, ability to draw a given object as shown. Candidate should be able to create visually appealing picture from given color harmony. He or she should be able to draw sketches from their memory. Candidates should be able to create two dimensional objects from shapes and forms given to them.

Aesthetic sensitivity Test syllabus includes ability to visualize three dimensional objects from the two dimensional images given. Questions related to architectural reasoning, analytical ability, mental ability etc are part of this test.  Candidates should be able to comprehend and visualize imaginatively. Candidates will also be assessed on their knowledge about commonly used material and objects based on their textual qualities. Candidates will also be tested on their knowledge about understanding different sides of a three dimensional object.

Other Details

Passing percentage for NATA is 40%. In other words, candidate must secure at least 80 marks out of 200 to clear NATA test. They can download their scorecard on fourth working day from the date of the test. Scorecard is available online.

CTET- Central Teacher Eligibility Test, Exam Pattern, Eligibility, Syllabus, Certificate Validity



Introduction to CTET Exam
CTET stands for Central Teachers Eligibility Test. As the name suggests, this test is conducted for individuals who are aspiring to teach in schools run by central government or schools affiliated to the central government or schools run by state government. This test is specifically conducted for aspirants who wish to facilitate teaching for students from first grade to eight grade. CTET exam design and structure is created by National Council for Teachers education.  Ministry of Human resources for Indian Government has appointed Central Board Of Secondary Education, Delhi as the authorized body for conducting Central Teachers Eligibility Test or CTET.

Eligibility For CTET
If you are planning to pursue your career in teaching and you want to teach in government schools then you need to clear CTET. Central Teachers Eligibility test is divided in two sections.

Paper one of CTET:  It is for individuals who wish to be teachers for students studying in primary section (first standard to fifth standard).

Paper two of CTET: It is for individuals who wish to be teachers for students studying in secondary section (sixth standard to eighth standard).  

Eligibility criteria for paper one aspirants:  Applicants should have completed their higher secondary certificate examination with 50% or more as total score. He or she should have a two year diploma in education (D.Ed).

Eligibility criteria for paper two aspirants:  Applicants should have completed their graduation in any stream namely Arts/Commerce or Science with aggregate score of 50% or more. He or she should possess a degree in special education (B.Ed)

Course Content / Syllabus

Paper one: Course content for paper one includes sections related to child development and Pedagogy, language one and language two, social studies and mathematics. Content for child development and pedagogy revolves around psychological understanding of learners up to age of ten years. It also involves around know how of handling the different learning styles, assessment styles, coaching styles for children in primary section. Main idea of introducing child development and pedagogy as part of CTET was to create an empathetic environment for facilitation. Language one deals with proficiency of language chosen as medium of instruction whereas language two content deals with different aspects of secondary language. Math and environmental studies content is related to problem solving skills, pedagogical ability of interpreting these  subjects.

Paper Two: Course content for paper two includes sections related to child development and Pedagogy, language one and language two, and specialized subjects (math and science, social studies or other subjects). Content for child development and pedagogy revolves around psychological understanding of learners in age group of eleven to fourteen years. It also involves around know how of handling the different learning styles, assessment styles, coaching styles for children in secondary section. Main idea of introducing child development and pedagogy as part of CTET was to create an empathetic and stimulating environment for facilitation of students in secondary level. Language one deals with proficiency of language chosen as medium of instruction whereas language two content deals with different aspects of secondary language. Specialized subjects will involve problem assessing and problem solving skills along with ability to interpret the subject pedagogically.

VALIDITY PERIOD OF CTET CERTIFICATE:
The Validity Period of CTET qualifying certificate is seven years from the date of declaration of its result.

BSTET - Bihar Teacher Eligibility Test, Eligibility, Exam Pattern, Passing Marks, Certificate Validity



Bihar State Teacher Eligibility Test is conducted by Bihar state government or by authorized bodies appointed by state governments in accordance with the RTE Act, 2009.  NCTE or National Council for Teacher’s education laid down the norms for qualifying the candidates to work as teachers in schools run in a particular state. State Council of Education Research and Training is the authorized body appointed by state government of Bihar for conducting the Teacher eligibility test in state of Bihar.

State Council of Education Research and Training will be conducting STET for Bihar. Individuals who fulfill the educational qualifications and who wish to pursue their career as a teacher in any privately managed school or government owned school in Bihar should mandatory appear for TET. Clearing of TET is crucial for being able to apply for job as a teacher in state of Bihar. SCERT Bihar will conduct TET for candidates wanting to join as primary teachers or secondary teachers.

Eligibility Criteria
Those who wish to pursue their career as primary section teachers in Bihar should fulfill further academic qualifications.

Primary section (Class 1 to class 5):  candidates should have cleared their higher secondary certificate examination with an aggregate score of 45% or more. They should also possess a 4 year diploma in elementary education (D.el.Ed) or a two year diploma in special education (D.Ed). Those candidates who have scored aggregated of 50% or more in their graduation can also apply for the same.

Those who wish to pursue their career as Secondary section teachers in Bihar should fulfill further academic qualifications.

Secondary section (Class 6 to class 8):  Candidates should have cleared their graduation with an aggregate of 50 percent. In other words, the applicant should possess a bachelor’s degree in Arts, commerce or Science. They should also have a one year degree in Special education (B.Ed) in order to apply for position of secondary section teachers.

Candidates who are in their second year of Elementary education diploma or special education diploma can also apply for the post of secondary class teacher provided they have secured 45% or more in their higher secondary certificate examination.

Examination Pattern
Exam pattern for Bihar TET is in harmony with exam pattern prescribed for BSTET by National Council for Teacher Education.  Applicants for both the categories will have to undergo an objective type paper of 150 marks. Child development and pedagogy, language 1 and language 2 are the most crucial and mandatory sections for primary and secondary class teacher applicants.  Those who are appearing for primary section class teachers test will have to solves questions related to maths and social studies .

Competitors who appear for paper two of the TET will have to opt for math and science section or social studies section . There is no negative marking for this test.

Passing Marks and Certificate Validity
Candidates who score 60% or more in their Bihar TET Exam will be considered to be as TET pass candidate. Validity of TET is for seven years from the date of result declaration. If a candidate wants to improve his or her score, he or she can reappear for the state teacher eligibility Test.

HTET- Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test, Eligibility, Exam Pattern, How to Apply



Board of School Education Haryana, will be conducting Teacher Eligibility Test for all eligible individuals who want to work as teachers in schools in Haryana. This test will be conducted in three levels, first level  for primary class teacher ( classes first to fifth), second level will be for trained graduate teachers or secondary school teachers ( class sixth to class eight) and third level will be for post graduate lecturers.

Last Date for Online Registration: 14 May 2013
Last Date for fee payment: 15 May 2013
Last Date for Printing of confirmed application : 20 May 2013
Start Date for  Downloading Admit Card: 25 May 2013

Examination Dates
For PGT-Lecturer:  25 June 2013
For Primary Teacher: 26 June 2013
For Secondary Teacher: 26 June 2013

Eligibility Criteria
Educational qualification
Primary school teacher:  Applicant should have cleared their senior secondary examination with 50% or more.  They should also have a diploma in elementary education (D.Ed). Candidates who have done their matriculation with Hindi or Sanskrit or have completed their graduation or post graduation in Hindi or any other subject associated with primary section can also apply for the same.

Trained Graduate Teachers: Candidates should be a graduate in any stream with aggregate score of 50% and above. They should hold a one year Bachelor in education (B.Ed)

Post Graduate Lecturer: Candidate should have completed their post graduation in relevant subject with aggregate of 50% or more. They should also hold a B.Ed degree.

Exam Pattern
Examination paper is for two and half hours. It is an objective based paper with total of 150 marks. There is no negative marking in the paper. Competitors scoring 60% and above will be awarded HTET certificates.

Application Process
Applicants will need to visit the official website www.hbse.ac.in  or www.htet.nic.in for filling the application form. They will need to fill in their educational qualifications, address details, and contact details and all the information as required in the examination form. Once they submit the form, they will need to generate an e-challan and use the E-challan to pay the application fee as per the instructions mentioned on the website. Candidates from general category need to pay a fee of Rs 600 and candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PH categories should pay an application fee of Rs 300 only.

Candidates should then paste the photograph on the confirmation page printout. They should also attached attested photocopies of address proof, id proof, and educational documents and submit it to the district co-ordination centers. If you are unable to submit it to the district co-ordination center then you can send these enclosures via registered post to Secretary, Board of School Education, Haryana, Hansi Road, Bhiwani – 127021. It is important to mention in bold letters ‘For application of HTET- Level_____’ on the application envelope.

Candidates must keep an eye on the official website for any updates regarding the HTET. They can download their admit card from 25th May 2013 onwards.

TNTET – Tamil Nadu State Teacher Eligibility Test, Eligibility, Exam Pattern



TNTET refers to Teachers eligibility test conducted by state of Tamil Nadu. As per the children’s right to free
and compulsory education, NCTE has laid down the norms and eligibility criteria for teaching in primary and secondary schools. Teacher eligibility test is one of the crucial parameters for all individuals aspiring to pursue their career in educational stream. Central government appointed authority or state government appointed authority can conduct TET. Teacher Recruitment Board (TRB) of Tamilnadu conducts Tamil Nadu teacher eligibility test.

TNTET 2013
TNTET will be conducted by TRB for candidates who wish to apply for position of teachers in schools ran by state government of Tamilnadu or by private managements. This test will be conducted in two sections. Paper 1 will be for those candidates, who wish to teach the pupils from first standard to fifth standard. Paper 2 will be for people who wish to teach students studying in standard sixth to standard eighth. Individuals who are open to teach in any class from standard one to standard eight should appear for both the papers. TET is a mandatory test for all aspirants in the educational field.

Educational qualification
Primary section: applicants interested in applying for position of primary teacher should have cleared their 10+2 examinations. It is crucial that they must have secured 50% marks in their 10+2 examination.
They should also possess a two year diploma in education (D.Ed)

Secondary Section: applicants interested in applying for position of secondary teacher should have cleared their graduation. They should possess a B.A, B.COM, B.Sc, B.Litt etc. It is crucial that they must have secured 50% marks in their final year examination.

They should also possess a one year degree in education (B.Ed)

Examination Pattern 
Primary Section: Candidates who are appearing for TNTET for primary section (Class 1 to 5)will have to appear for an objective based paper. This paper will be for 150 marks and has to be completed in one hour thirty minutes. This paper will be divided in 5 sections. All the five sections are compulsory. Each section has an equivalent score of 30 allotted to it. First section includes topics in child development and pedagogy, second section will include language one (English or Tamil) and third section will include language two (candidate’s choice), fourth section will include mathematics and fifth section will include social studies.Course will be related to primary school course content however, complexity of the topics may be slightly higher.

Secondary section: Candidates who are appearing for TNTET for secondary section (Class 6 to 8) will have to appear for an objective based paper. This paper will be for 150 marks.  This paper will be divided in 4 sections. First three sections will be compulsory and the forth section will be based on candidate’s specialization. First three sections have an equivalent score of 90 allotted to it (30 marks each). First section includes topics in child development and pedagogy, second section will include language one (English or Tamil) and third section will include language two (candidate’s choice), fourth section will include candidate’s specialization and will have weightage of 60 marks.
