State governments have the authority to conduct State
Teachers eligibility test 2014 in order to determine the candidates who qualify
for applying for position of teachers for class one to class eight. State government of West Bengal conducts
WBTET i.e. West Bengal Teachers Eligibility Test annually.
Who Can Apply for WBTET 2014
Candidates who fulfill the academic qualifications and who
aspire to pursue a career in educational field can apply for WB TET. Candidates
who have not managed to get through in previously conducted WB TET can reappear
for the fresh WBTET. Candidates who are in the final year of prescribed
training courses can also apply for west Bengal Teacher Eligibility Test 2014.
If any candidate is not happy with the score achieved by him or her in previous
WB TET, he or she can reappear in order to improve their score.
WB TET is conducted in two stages.
Stage 1 is for prospective
teachers for primary section i.e. for class one to class five.
Stage 2 is for
applicants who wish to act as educational facilitators for class sixth to class
eight.
WBTET Eligibility Criteria
Primary teachers: aspirants who wish to teach students in
class one to class five need to fulfill certain academic qualifications
Individual should have cleared his higher secondary
certificate examination with at least 45% aggregate score. He or she should
hold a two year diploma in special education or two year diploma in elementary
education. Diploma should be from a NCTE or RCI recognized institute. Or
Individual who is a graduate in any stream with 50% or more
marks and has a diploma in elementary education or a diploma in special
education.
It is crucial that candidate is able to read, write and
interpret in language chosen as medium of instruction and medium of test.
Secondary teachers: aspirants who wish to teach students in
class six to class eight need to fulfill certain academic qualifications
Individual should be a
graduate in any stream with 50% or more marks aggregate score. He or she should
hold a one year degree in special education or four year degree in elementary
education. Degree should be from a NCTE or RCI recognized institute. Or
Individual who is a post graduate in any stream with 50% or
more marks and has a degree in elementary education or a degree in special
education.
It is crucial that candidate is able to read, write and
interpret in language chosen as medium of instruction and medium of test.
WBTET 2014 Exam Pattern
West Bengal Teachers eligibility test paper one is designed
for applicants who want to teach students in primary level. It is of 100 marks
and is divided in 5 sections of 20 marks each. West Bengal Teachers eligibility
test paper two is designed for applicants who want to teach students in secondary
level. It is of 100 marks, is divided in 3 sections of 20 marks each, and
fourth section of 40 marks. Passing limit for WB TET 2014 is 60%. West Bengal
Government may choose to provide relaxation in passing cut off to SC/ST/OBC and
PH candidates.
